## Mini-bosses

- **Deku Scrub Trio** (Inside the Deku Tree): Three Deku Scrubs guard the door to Queen Gohma's lair, and they only stay beaten in the right order: middle, then right, then left. Deflect each one's nut back with your Deku Shield to knock it out of its hole. The last one blurts out the secret order, and the way forward opens.
- **Lizalfos** (Dodongo's Cavern): A pair of Lizalfos ambushes you twice in the same chamber, the second time when you return on a higher ledge. One attacks while the other watches, and they swap when one gets hurt. Block with your shield, counter after each lunge, and throw Deku Nuts to stun them.
- **Big Octo** (Inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly): Big Octo circles a spiked pillar in the middle of its chamber. Hit its face with the Boomerang to stop it, then slash the glowing weak spot on its back when that side faces you. Keep chasing it around the pillar, without touching the spikes, until it bursts.
- **Stalfos** (Forest Temple, Spirit Temple, Gerudo Training Ground, Ganon's Castle): Stalfos block most frontal swings, then answer with heavy chops and leaping attacks. Keep your shield up, punish them right after a swing whiffs or lands on your shield, and use Deku Nuts to force an opening. When two fight together, finish the second one quickly, or the first can reassemble.
- **Wolfos** (Sacred Forest Meadow, Gerudo Training Ground, Ganon's Castle): A Wolfos circles you and guards with its claws against frontal attacks. Block its swipe, then hit it as it recoils, or get behind it, where it takes extra damage. In the Sacred Forest Meadow the gate stays shut until it's beaten.
- **White Wolfos** (Ice Cavern, Gerudo Training Ground): A tougher, snow-white Wolfos guards the Iron Boots at the end of the Ice Cavern. It still blocks frontal hits, but after a claw attack it spins and pauses with its back exposed. Jump-attack its back and tail during that pause.
- **Dead Hand** (Bottom of the Well, Shadow Temple): Pale arms sprout from the floor; let one grab you, wriggle free, and Dead Hand surfaces to bite. When it bends its head down, slash its face several times until it sinks and reappears elsewhere. Killing the arms is pointless; focus on the head. It guards the Lens of Truth in the well and the Hover Boots in the Shadow Temple.
- **Flare Dancer** (Fire Temple): You face two of these whirling flame creatures in the Fire Temple, one on the route to the Megaton Hammer. Hit the spinning blaze with the Hookshot or a bomb to strip away its fire, then chase the small core and slash it before it dives back into the flames. Its color changes as it weakens.
- **Poe Sisters** (Forest Temple): Joelle, Beth and Amy each steal a torch flame and hide in paintings or puzzles around the temple; shoot a painting while it's visible to force its sister out. Block her lantern attacks, then hit her with arrows until she fades. Meg, the last, splits into copies; only the real one spins just before they attack, so hit that one, because each wrong hit costs you health.
- **Dark Link** (Water Temple): Your shadow copies your moves and blocks most sword swings. Let him strike your shield, then counter at once; after each hit he reappears behind you, so turn before attacking again. Din's Fire and the Megaton Hammer get around his guard, and Biggoron's Sword ends the fight quickly.
- **Iron Knuckle** (Spirit Temple, Ganon's Castle): An armored knight whose axe can take four hearts in one hit and cleave pillars in half. Stay just outside its reach, let a swing miss, then dart in for a couple of slashes and back off. Once pieces of its armor fall away it moves faster, but it also becomes vulnerable to arrows and seeds.
- **Nabooru (Iron Knuckle)** (Spirit Temple): Twinrova's brainwashed Nabooru waits in Iron Knuckle armor just before the boss chamber. She hits harder and recovers faster than a normal Iron Knuckle, and she counters if you strike from behind. Use the same bait-and-punish rhythm, adding bombs if you need to.
- **Gerudo Thief** (Gerudo's Fortress): Four sword-wielding Gerudo each guard the key to a captured carpenter's cell. Each one fights with twin scimitars, blocks well, and her spin attack can throw you into a cell. Wait for her to drop her guard after a combo, then counter with jump attacks; Biggoron's Sword makes these fights quick.
- **Dinolfos** (Gerudo Training Ground, Ganon's Castle): A tougher cousin of the Lizalfos that dodges well and takes more hits, and unlike Lizalfos, two may attack at once. Throw a Deku Nut to stun it, then follow up with a jump attack, and repeat until it falls.
