# Spirit Temple Walkthrough — Ocarina of Time remake (Switch 2)

Chapter 20 · Child & Adult · Dungeon. Updated Nov 1, 2026.

Carved into the giant goddess statue of the desert, the Spirit Temple must be tackled twice: once as young Link squeezing through passages no adult can fit, and again seven years later with the strength and gear to finish the job. Sunlight, mirrors and armored knights stand between you and the witches pulling the strings.

**Goal:** Recover the Silver Gauntlets as a child, then return as an adult to defeat Twinrova and claim the Spirit Medallion.

**Rewards:** Silver Gauntlets, Mirror Shield, Heart Container, Spirit Medallion

**Boss:** Twinrova

## 1. Young Link: Nabooru's Request

1. (Watch out) Young Link needs the Boomerang, Fairy Slingshot, bombs, Deku Sticks and Din's Fire. Equip the Hylian Shield if you have it; Fire Keese will burn a Deku Shield.
2. After agreeing to help Nabooru in the entrance hall, crawl through the small hole beside her.
3. In the first room, shoot down the Keese and Fire Keese and steer clear of the blade trap sliding along the floor.
4. Destroy the Armos statue in the middle of the room. Bombs work well (one while it's dormant, another once it wakes). It explodes when beaten, so keep your distance.
5. With the Armos gone, the doors open. Take the left door first.
6. (Tip) The Spirit Temple has five Small Keys in all: two found by young Link and three by adult Link.

## 2. Young Link: The Bridge and the First Key

1. A Stalfos drops in as you enter. It hits hard against a child: keep your shield up, let it swing, then counterattack. Pick off the Green Bubble nearby with the Slingshot while its flames are out.
2. A bridge is raised over the gap, and its crystal switch sits behind a fence. Throw the Boomerang in an arc around the barrier to hit the switch, and the bridge lowers.
3. Cross, blocking the pots that fly at you, and open the small chest on the far side. It restocks your Deku Shield.
4. The next room holds an Anubis, a floating mummy that only fire can hurt. It mirrors your movements, sliding the opposite way whenever you move.
5. Use its mirroring to steer it next to the fire source, then hit the crystal switch with the Slingshot or Boomerang to set it alight. A blast of Din's Fire while it's close also works. Destroying it unlocks the far door.
6. Next, watch for a Wallmaster's shadow and clear out the Keese. Five Silver Rupees are scattered around this room, and a couple sit high on the chain-link fence, so climb it.
7. (Collectible) A Gold Skulltula crawls on the fence. Take it out with the Boomerang before you climb for the rupees.
8. Collecting all five lowers a bridge that leads back to the first room.
9. In the first room, light a Deku Stick and use it to light the two unlit torches. A chest drops with the first Small Key.
10. Crawl through the small opening between those torches and unlock the door at the end.

## 3. Young Link: The Climbing Wall and the Map

1. Skulltulas cling to the climbable wall in this room. Knock them off with the Boomerang before you start up.
2. (Collectible) A Gold Skulltula is on the wall here as well. Grab it with the Boomerang.
3. At the top, defeat the two Lizalfos and any remaining Skulltulas, then hit the crystal switch with the Boomerang. Two chests appear: one with Bombchus, the other with rupees.
4. A boulder above blocks a shaft of sunlight. Blast it with a Bombchu so the light pours in and unlocks the door ahead.
5. You come out on a ledge high in the temple's main chamber, facing a giant statue of the desert goddess. Push the statue standing on the ledge off the edge so it lands on the switch below.
6. Drop to the floor. Stand between the two unlit torches near the goddess statue and cast Din's Fire to light both. A chest appears with the Dungeon Map.
7. (Tip) Out of magic? Adult Link can light the same torches later with Fire Arrows.
8. Climb the wall near where the statue landed and follow the stairs and curving corridor onward.

## 4. Young Link: Sun Block and Iron Knuckle

1. Destroy the Beamos in the next room with a bomb or Bombchu.
2. Collect the five Silver Rupees (one needs a running jump). Gathering them all lights a torch; carry its flame on a Deku Stick to the room's other torches, and a chest appears with the second Small Key.
3. Shift the gray blocks to free the block with a sun face, then push it into the beam of sunlight. The door opens.
4. (Collectible) Partway up the following stairwell, turn around: a Gold Skulltula hangs above the doorway you came through.
5. (Tip) Break the pots in the stairwell to restore hearts before the fight ahead.
6. Unlock the door at the top. An armored Iron Knuckle sits motionless on a throne; hit it to wake it.
7. Its axe takes several hearts in one blow, so never stand in front of it while it winds up. Back away as it swings, then dart in and strike while the axe is buried in the floor.
8. Once enough armor falls off, it moves faster. Stay patient with hit-and-run attacks, and let it smash the pillars instead of you; the broken pillars and throne can drop hearts.
9. Go through the door behind the throne and out onto one of the goddess statue's hands. Kaepora Gaebora perches nearby with a final warning about two witches.
10. (You get) Open the chest to claim the Silver Gauntlets. They let you push and lift heavy silver objects, but they're far too big for young Link to use.
11. A scream rings out. The witches Koume and Kotake seize Nabooru with dark magic and drag her into the temple as she shouts at you to run.
12. Play the Prelude of Light, draw the Master Sword in the Temple of Time to become an adult, and play the Requiem of Spirit to return to the Colossus.
13. (Tip) If you haven't planted a Magic Bean in the soft soil by the temple entrance yet, do it now as a child. As an adult, the bean platform carries you to a Piece of Heart on top of the arch.

## 5. Adult Link: The Compass and the Third Key

1. (Watch out) Adult Link needs the Silver Gauntlets, Longshot (or Hookshot), Hover Boots, Fairy Bow, bombs, the Lens of Truth, Zelda's Lullaby and the Song of Time. Fire Arrows or Din's Fire and the Megaton Hammer help too.
2. Climb the entrance stairs and go right. Use the Silver Gauntlets to push the huge silver block into the gap ahead.
3. The next room has a blade trap and a Beamos. Bomb the Beamos, then Hookshot the crystal switch on the ceiling to unlock the doors on both sides. Go left.
4. Defeat the Wolfos, then stand on the Triforce crest and play Zelda's Lullaby. A chest appears on a high platform; Hookshot over to it for the Compass.
5. Go back and take the right-hand door. Boulders roll through this room. Collect five Silver Rupees, ducking into alcoves to avoid the boulders; the one floating near the entrance needs the Hover Boots.
6. (Collectible) Play the Song of Time near the blue stone block to make it vanish, revealing a Gold Skulltula in the gap behind it.
7. With all five rupees collected, go through the door and defeat the Like Like that drops from the ceiling. Open the chest for the third Small Key.
8. (Watch out) Like Likes can swallow your Hylian Shield or tunic. Kill them fast and don't let them get close.
9. Return to the blade trap room and use the key on its locked door.

## 6. Adult Link: Mirrors and the Statue's Hand

1. Flying pots and another Like Like greet you beyond the door. Deal with them, then climb the brick wall at the end of the hall.
2. In the next room, use the Lens to reveal an invisible Floormaster. Defeat it, then destroy the small hands it splits into before they regrow.
3. A cobra-headed statue holding a mirror stands in a beam of light. Push it to turn it, sweeping the reflected beam across the sun faces on the walls, and stop when the beam hits the one that opens the door.
4. (Watch out) Don't spin it carelessly: the wrong sun face can call down a Wallmaster. Of the chests that appear, one holds a Recovery Heart and another is a trap that freezes you.
5. You emerge high in the main chamber. Put on the Hover Boots and drift onto the goddess statue's hand that bears a Triforce crest.
6. Play Zelda's Lullaby on the crest. A chest falls into the statue's other hand; Hookshot or hover over to it and take the fourth Small Key.
7. (Collectible) Play the Scarecrow's Song here to summon Pierre, Hookshot to him and grab the Gold Skulltula on the far wall. Watch for a flying pot.
8. (Tip) Smash the rusted switches on this level with the Megaton Hammer to drop a platform down to the entrance, giving you a shortcut back to the front of the temple.

## 7. Adult Link: Anubis, Armos and the Mirror Shield

1. Unlock the door at the top of the stairs. Bomb the Beamos, then burn the Anubis with Fire Arrows or Din's Fire.
2. The next room has four Armos statues around a floor switch. Shoot the Armos that sits where it can hop onto the switch; when it lands there, the door opens for a short time, so hurry through.
3. (Tip) In the corridor beyond, the Lens reveals invisible chests holding Recovery Hearts.
4. Another Iron Knuckle waits on a throne. Fight it the same way as before; Biggoron's Sword cuts the fight short.
5. Go through the door behind the throne and out onto the goddess statue's other hand.
6. (You get) Open the chest for the Mirror Shield. It reflects beams of light and some magic attacks, and it's the key to the rest of this temple.
7. Back in the Armos room, stand in the shaft of sunlight, raise the Mirror Shield and aim the reflected beam at the sun face by the door. It opens onto a chest with the fifth Small Key.
8. Take the key to the remaining locked door in the Anubis room.

## 8. Adult Link: Moving Walls and the Boss Key

1. This room is a tall climbing wall that slides back and forth. Bomb the Beamos and Hookshot the Skulltula on the wall first.
2. Climb as the wall shifts, steering clear of the spikes and the Beamos beams. Destroy the Beamos at the top as well.
3. Play Zelda's Lullaby on the Triforce crest to open the door.
4. Torch Slugs crawl around the next room. Kill them first; the Megaton Hammer makes short work of them.
5. Several of the doors here are fakes. Bomb or hammer the fake door in the corner to uncover an eye switch, and shoot the eye with an arrow.
6. Hookshot up to the platform you can now reach and hit the switch on it. The fire around the big chest dies out; open it for the Boss Key.

## 9. Adult Link: Light the Goddess

1. In the next room, hit the crystal switch behind the bars to open the way; a spin attack reaches it.
2. Defeat the Lizalfos and the White Bubbles circling the room.
3. Bomb the odd-looking section of wall to open a gap, then turn the cobra mirror statues so sunlight passes through the gap and the bars and bounces up to the mirror on the ceiling.
4. Stand beneath the ceiling mirror, catch the light on your Mirror Shield and aim it at the sun face on the wall. A platform lowers you into the main chamber.
5. Reflect the sunlight onto the goddess statue's face and hold it there until the face crumbles away.
6. Hookshot into the opening in the statue's head and unlock the boss door with the Boss Key.
7. A final Iron Knuckle guards the throne room. It's the toughest yet, but the same hit-and-run tactics work.
8. When its armor shatters, the knight is revealed to be Nabooru, finally free of the witches' spell. Before she can say much, the witches whisk her away again. Go through the door behind the throne.
9. (Tip) Refill hearts and magic, and bottle a fairy if you can, before you step through.

## 10. Boss: Twinrova

1. (Boss) Koume (fire) and Kotake (ice) circle the central platform and take turns firing magic beams at you. Stay on the platform.
2. (Boss) Raise the Mirror Shield as a beam arrives and face the other sister: fire bounced into Kotake, or ice bounced into Koume, hurts her. Lock on to the sister you want to hit so the reflection flies true.
3. (Boss) After several hits, the sisters fuse into Twinrova, who alternates between fire and ice blasts.
4. (Boss) Absorb three blasts of the same element with the Mirror Shield. Taking a blast of the opposite element cancels the stored charge, so sidestep the wrong one.
5. (Boss) Once three are stored, aim your shield at Twinrova to unleash the charge. She crashes down onto one of the platforms; get to her and slash with your sword until she recovers.
6. (Boss) Repeat the absorb-and-strike cycle until she falls. Biggoron's Sword ends it in fewer rounds.
7. (You get) Take the Heart Container and step into the blue light. Nabooru awakens as the Sage of Spirit and gives you the Spirit Medallion.

## Gold Skulltulas nearby

- **Metal Fence in the Child Wing** (Spirit Temple; Child Link; needs Boomerang): As a child, crawl through the small hole at the start of the temple and continue to the room with a wide chasm. The Skulltula clings to the metal fence across the gap; Boomerang it for the token.
- **Top of the Climbing Wall** (Spirit Temple; Either age; needs Boomerang or Hookshot): After the Lizalfos fight, climb the wall to the next floor and turn around at the top. Hit the Skulltula set into the wall with the Boomerang (adult: Hookshot).
- **Above Door Before the Iron Knuckle** (Spirit Temple; Either age; needs Boomerang or Hookshot): In the narrow hallway leading to the first Iron Knuckle fight, look above the door for the Skulltula. Take it with the Boomerang (adult: Hookshot).
- **Behind the Blue Block, Boulder Room** (Spirit Temple; Adult Link; needs Silver Gauntlets, Song of Time): In the adult wing's room with rolling boulders and Silver Rupees, play the Song of Time beside the blue block to make it vanish. Kill the Skulltula that was hidden behind it and grab the token.
- **High Ledge in the Statue Room** (Spirit Temple; Adult Link; needs Silver Gauntlets, Longshot): From the top of the staircase in the giant statue room, look to the high ledge where Pierre can appear. Play the Scarecrow's Song and Longshot over to him, or Longshot the Skulltula straight from the stairs.
